How to cook rice cakes with pork ribs

1. Break the rice cake into a container, pour in water and soak it for later use.

2. Rinse the ribs and put them into the pot with cold water.After boiling over high heat, use a spoon to skim off the foam on the surface.Then take out the ribs and drain them or wipe the surface moisture with kitchen paper.

3. Cut the green onion into small sections, cut the ginger into small pieces, prepare rock sugar, cinnamon, star anise and red pepper Dried pepper.

4. Pour an appropriate amount of cooking oil into the pot and heat it until it is 50% hot.Add rock sugar and stir over low heat.Fry until the rock sugar melts, then add the pork ribs and stir-fry until the sugar color is evenly coated.

5. Add onion segments, ginger slices, star anise, cinnamon and red pepper, and add a small Stir-fry until fragrant.

6. Then add light soy sauce, dark soy sauce and cooking wine, and stir-fry until the ribs are colored.

7. Pour in water to cover the ribs, more water than less, boil over high heat and then change to small to medium size Simmer for about an hour.

8. After the ribs are cooked, put the rice cake into the pot and continue to simmer for 5- 8 minutes.

9. After the rice cake is soft and glutinous, add an appropriate amount of salt, turn to high heat and stir-fry to reduce the juice.Be careful not to make the soup too dry.

Tips
I used Korean rice cakes for the rice cakes, but you can also use hot pot rice cakes bought in the supermarket and just cut them into small pieces.When frying rock sugar, be sure to stir-fry over low heat to avoid burning it and affecting the overall taste of the dish.When putting the ribs into the pot, make sure there is no moisture on the surface, otherwise it will easily splash, which is not only dangerous but also detrimental to kitchen hygiene.Rice cake is easy to cook, so stew the ribs first and then add the rice cake and simmer for a few minutes.
