Ingredients
Flour ( 300g ) | Cornmeal ( 100g ) |
Warm water (around 33°C ( ) | Not exceeding 35℃) ( 200g ) |
Yeast powder (Meishan brand) ( 1.3g ) | White sugar ( 15g ) |
How to make corn buns

1. Dissolve yeast powder in 100g of warm water for about 5 minutes

2.Put flour, cornflour and sugar into a large bowl and mix thoroughly!

3.Add the warm water with dissolved yeast powder and another 100g of warm water into the flour basin, stir it into a dough sheet, and then start kneading it with your hands into a smooth dough

4. Cover it with plastic wrap and let it wake up!

5. When the hair has doubled in size, poke a hole in the middle with your finger.If it does not bounce back, it means it is ready! (It takes longer to post in winter)
6. Take out the dough and start to release the air bubbles.Sprinkle a little flour on the cutting board and start kneading.In order to make the steamed buns stronger, you can knead for a few more minutes and beat the dough more! 
7.Knead the dough into a long strip and divide it into several even portions

8.Leave it for 30 minutes (the weather is cold in winter)

9. Steam in boiling water for 20 minutes ( Wrap a towel around the pot lid to prevent leakage), turn off the heat and simmer for 5 minutes! When opening the lid, be careful not to let water drip on the steamed buns
