How to make beef stew with tomatoes and potatoes

1. Prepare ingredients: wash all main ingredients and cut into pieces.

2. Cut green onions and shallots into sections, and cut ginger into small slices.

3. Place the beef in cold water, bring to a boil, remove, wash and drain and set aside.

4. Heat another pot with appropriate amount of oil until it is 50% hot, add scallions and Sauté ginger slices until fragrant.

5.Put the beef into the pot and stir-fry over high heat until it changes color.

6. Add appropriate amount of light soy sauce and cooking wine and stir-fry evenly.

7.Add tomatoes and stir well.

8.Add water to cover the ingredients, add star anise and bay leaves and bring to a boil over high heat.Simmer over medium-low heat for 40-50 minutes.

9. Add potato cubes and continue simmering for 15-20 minutes.

10.Add appropriate amount of salt and chicken essence, and sprinkle in chopped green onions.

Tips
Beef is best stewed with brisket, which we call ribs.
