How to make pumpkin and sesame cake

1. Prepare all materials.First put the sugar into the steamed pumpkin puree and melt it.

2. Then use chopsticks to mix the pumpkin puree, yeast, and flour with an appropriate amount of warm water until they form a fluffy consistency..

3. Then knead it into a smooth dough with your hands and place it in a pot filled with warm water around 38℃ In the steamer, ferment for about forty minutes.

4. When it has risen to twice its size, open the lid and take out the kneading dough.

5. After kneading for 15 minutes to break the big bubbles in the dough, add cooked sesame seeds and continue Knead for 5 minutes.

6. Use a rolling pin to roll the dough out to about the size of a cake mold.(You can place a piece of oil paper under the cake mold for easy steaming and demoulding.)

7. Next, put the dough in the mold into a steamer filled with warm water and continue to rise for about 35 minutes.When the fermentation has doubled, it can be steamed over high heat.

8. Turn to high heat and steam to medium heat for 18 minutes.After steaming, turn off the heat and simmer for five minutes, then take it out of the pan and let it dry for 2 minutes to unmold.

Tips
When steaming the pumpkin, it is best to wash, peel and cut into thin slices, cover it with plastic wrap and steam it to prevent steam water from flowing into the pumpkin and affecting the aroma and taste of the pumpkin.And it’s very wet and not mellow enough.
