How to make fried glutinous rice cakes

1.Prepare ingredients

2. Mix the glutinous rice flour and flour evenly, add water, knead into a dough, and leave it for about fifteen minutes.

3.Find a small semi-circular bowl-like mold.I used it to make Snow Mei Niang. If you don't have a special mold, you can use the lid of a wooden chaff cup or the lid of some ice cream cups instead. You can also do it hands-off, which is less troublesome.

4. Put the glutinous rice dough into the mold and push it flat with your fingers, add powdered sugar (white granulated sugar).

5.Use your thumb to press the edge of the dough and push it toward the middle against the inner layer of the mold.

6. Wrap the glutinous rice balls and flatten them.

7.Use four fingers to push outward from one side, as shown in the picture.

8.Make a round shape.

9. Flatten the round dough on the cutting board.

10. Heat the oil and put in the glutinous rice cakes, fry both sides until they turn colour.

11. Take it out and put it on a plate! Finished product picture!
Tips
You need to add an appropriate amount of flour to the glutinous rice flour, otherwise it will be difficult to knead the dough and it will be sticky to your hands.Adding an appropriate amount of flour can avoid these phenomena. When wrapping the powdered sugar, be careful not to pierce the glutinous rice skin, otherwise it will flow into the oil and burn during frying. When frying the pancakes 😊 the body of the pancakes will bulge, 😁 don’t panic, the powdered sugar (white sugar) added will not splash oil, this is normal.Due to negligence, I forgot to take a photo of the fried oil, and the temperature of the oil added later has dropped, please forgive me😁
