How to make chrysanthemum buns

1. Peel the purple sweet potato and pumpkin and cut into pieces, steam them in a steamer, use a spoon to press them into a puree, then add an appropriate amount of milk and stir evenly.

2. Dissolve the yeast in warm water, then add an appropriate amount of white sugar, and add the purple sweet potato puree to the flour , mix with yeast water to form a purple dough.

3. Add flour to the pumpkin puree and mix with the same yeast water to form a yellow dough.

4. Cover the reconciled dough with plastic wrap and ferment for about 2 hours..After the dough has fermented until it has doubled in size, take out the dough and knead until air bubbles are squeezed out and the surface is smooth.Divide the dough into equal amounts.(The outer skin should be slightly larger)

5. Roll the outer layer into a disc, and roll the inner layer into a disc.Form the dough into a round ball.

6.Wrap it into a ball according to the method of making buns, with the seam facing down.

7. Roll the ball into a round cake.

8.Use a knife to cut into 12 even petals, first cut them into 4 parts , and then cut the 4 portions into 3 equal portions.Don't cut it off, about 1 cm from the center.

9.Pinch a petal with your hands and twist it upward so that the cross section faces upward.Note that each petal should be twisted in one direction, and then press it with your hands.Finally, decorate with flower hearts.

10.After it is done, let it wake up for about 15 minutes.Pour cold water into the steamer and turn on high heat.After boiling, turn to low heat and steam for 20 minutes before serving.
Tips
1 The yeast needs to be dissolved in warm water of about 35 degrees, not hot water.
2 When mixing the dough, add water to the flour little by little to make the dough moderately soft and hard.
3 The fermented dough must be kneaded until the air bubbles are completely discharged, so that the steamed buns will look beautiful.
4 Use low heat when steaming, and the steaming time should not be too long.
